Digital camera reviews of Sony TCM150 Standard Cassette Voice Recorder

Digital camera Review: Handy and convenient
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this over a year ago and it has come in very handy. I used it for many things such as recording kid's music and dance practices, listening to books on tape while in the kitchen, and just having the kids singing and then listening to themselves. The batteries seem to rarely need changing (I've only changed them once) and I use this rather frequently.

The sound quality may not be the best but its clear enough for everything we have used it for.

This product works just like I expected it to. I love that I can listen to it without earphones. I would recommend this recorded.

Digital camera Review: High Quality Recorder; Amazon doesn't wrap/ship well
Summary: 5 Stars

Sony's TCM-150 is my favorite recorder for college lectures. It has less background noise than the Panasonic, and picks up sound very well, even from across the room. I also prefer it to the digital recorders because you can't accidentally erase the whole thing, and the mechanical operation is much simpler. You also have a permanent recording on a tape that you can play on a boombox. I've used one for 1 1/2 years with no problems whatsoever (just bought a second one). Features are simple, Record, Stop, Play, Rewind, Forward. Has earphone jack, pause, and volume control. Careful with the battery light! It will start to fade when the battery is low. If you don't replace the batteries within a few hours, it will stop recording even with the light faintly on and the tape going around! For me, the recorder is still worth getting the hang of when to change the batteries.

I ordered through Amazon and they didn't pack it well. A customer service rep just confirmed there is 1) no way to communicate requests when a new order is placed, and 2) no way to leave feedback on individual orders (he sent me here!). I had trouble with a past order, with my book being packaged loose in a box and the corners getting dinged up. So when I ordered my tape recorder, I e-mailed Amazon and asked them to please use adequate packing materials this time. They of course assured me that their shipping is top quality and secure. I got my tape recorder on the bottom of a box, no bubble wrap under it or anything. It works, but would you want your electronics dropped a few times in postal delivery across the country? There should be a feedback forum.

Alas, Amazon has helped put bookstores out of business, but they are untouchable. No one can leave them a feedback rating. Customers cannot bring any pressure to bear on quality standards because they have no voice in this corporation. I buy a lot of used books from sellers, but the whole point of ordering direct from Amazon is to have brand new things shipped well (and shipped for free, though the overall cost is often the same), without the inconsistencies of used item sellers, some of whom are challenged in their ability to accurately describe and carefully ship an item. Amazon profits either way, so I can see why they avoid offering a feedback forum.

Digital camera Review: Hope i can get it soon.

From what i have heard, this is a pretty good tape recorder. i don't know if my mom will buy it for a while, but its worth a shot (by the way,im 17 and broke) i have been needing one for something you may find wierd. me and a few of my friends are planning on starting a band called "Immortal Virus" and me and halie were thinking that a tape recorder to record and stuff might make a good demo for a start or whatever. anyway, this tape recorder sounds good. end-

Digital camera Review: It didn't last.
