Digital camera reviews of Sony VCT-80AV Remote Control Tripod for use with Compatible Sony Camcorders

Digital camera Review: Great functionality, competitive pricing from Amazon
Summary: 5 Stars

Im a believer in Sony's remote control Tripods. Makes shooting video a lot easier and resulting better videos with my Sony HDR-SR11. A bit pricey but its a Sony. Thanks to Amazons competitive pricing, makes getting one a lot more convincing. Amazon.com LLC my choice for fast, efficient order processing and great shipping times to Honolulu, Hawaii even with standard shipping. I usually get my stuff from 3 to 5 days from ship date.

Digital camera Review: Great tripod
Summary: 4 Stars

Using this with a HD-SR12 camcorder. Has bubble level which is fantastic. Also has remote cotrol which has a slow zoom feature that I constantly use. Fantastic option. However, the pan/tilt movements are really stiff. You can obviously adjust the tension but it is either stiff or you loosen it until it is just too loose. Still a fantastic tripod. Glad I bought it!

Digital camera Review: Great tripod
Summary: 5 Stars

Works exactly as advertised and is the appropriate size. I bought the 50AV and it was too short. Now to try to find a splitter for the A/V connection on my camera so that I can use this and another device simultaneously.

Digital camera Review: I liked it so much I bought one for my father in law
Summary: 5 Stars

I video a lot of horse shows for my daughter and realized that I had to use two hands with my old tripod. Every time I zoomed in the video would bounce. With this tripod I never touch the camera and can use just one hand, no more bouncing to zoom in. I really like the slow zoom feature, makes the videos very smooth. Can't wait to see how it preforms at the cheer leading competition this winter and the high school equestrian events too. I am recommending it to all my video buddies.

Digital camera Review: Light, stable, easy to use, perfect for Sony prosumer cameras
Summary: 4 Stars

I have a Sony Z5 camera, so I know I should've bought the 300 dollar version of this tripod, which is probably more sturdy and durable. THERE ARE MANY SONY TRIPOD MODELS, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ALL OF THEM OUT BEFORE YOU PICK ONE. Sometimes it's not very clear what the differences are, though...
Since I could only afford this one, I have to admit it's pretty awesome considering the price. We all know a decent pro tripod costs at least 300 bucks, but this one does a lot of stuff for a third of that. Bubble level, very smooth panning and tilting, relatively tight and stable, remote control zooming, recording and photo taking on the handle... but to be lightweight and inexpensive, it had to sacrifice something: this one has some parts made in cheap plastic, like the hand crank to raise the height and the locking plate. Treat these with care and don't leave them in direct sunlight, and it'll probably last a few years. Definitely not the last tripod you'll every buy, but does the job.
