Digital camera reviews of Sony Webbie MHS-PM1 HD Camcorder (Silver)

Digital camera Review: Cheaply Made
Summary: 3 Stars

Cheap cheap cheap! Feels cheap and because of that it easily got mashed eventhough this was inside a case and the case was inside a camcorder case. Save your money and skip on this one.

Digital camera Review: Crap!
Summary: 1 Stars

Never again. I will never buy another Sony product again. The TV I bought? Sound goes out for a full minute a couple of times a night. And it's less than 2 years old! Vaio laptop? Sent it back after a week. Doesn't work well with XP even though I had to pay $500 extra for the privilege. Now the Webbie. After the 3rd charge the battery won't charge again. I guess I don't know what's wrong with it. It's a dead piece of metal I know that. Tech support, in Malaysia of course, can't do anything. They want me to send it to them at MY expense! Are you kidding me?! Shoulda got a Mino. I will NEVER buy another Sony product again as long as I live. Promise. No matter how cute the packaging. Save your money, and your sanity. Refuse to be seduced by shiny purple objects.

Digital camera Review: Decent but poor in lower light conditions
Summary: 3 Stars

When outside on a sunny day, this is a great video camera. Unfortunately, any indoor taping, even in adequate lighting, is subpar. You need very bright light for this device to work well. Another drawback is a lack of image stabilization. You have to hold the camera extremely still when recording, which is hard to do, especially while walking. It would have been nice if Sony had included a flip-out USB cable like its competitors so you don't have to search for a cord when you're ready to download. And finally (though a minor thing), the name is a bit silly. Webbie? At least it's not as bad as Sony's newest model, the Bloggie.

Digital camera Review: Didn't like video quality
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought this camera and brought it with me to Ghana so that I could film everything.
I wanted to film the scenery while I was riding the buses and tros, but the quality was terrible!
The camera clearly can't handle filming while moving around. Just turning it to film something on the right, and it would get blurry.
Don't buy this. It'll just disappoint you.

Digital camera Review: Easy to use
Summary: 4 Stars

This is my first Webbie and digital Camcorder. I am a sony fan and though this was not a top dollar webbie it is working great so far. I like the auto turn on once the lense is flipped. The menu on camera is easy to manipulate. I have yet to use all the features and still have to tweek the settings. I have not yet loaded the software but having a PS3 with the memory stick pro port has worked out like a dream for instant viewing and saving. I am really happy with the camera so far. I did not give it a 5 star since I have only used it a few times and have not tried photo button yet. The speaker is either really sensitive or my fingers run over it when moving the camera. The camera is light and pocket friendly but I would advise a scratch screen over the viewing window if you are particular as I am.
