Digital camera reviews of Sony Webbie MHS-PM1 HD Camcorder (Silver)

Digital camera Review: Rotating-Lens Design great; Too Bad About the Rest
Summary: 2 Stars

Initially attracted to this device for its unique, swiveling lens (great for taping secretively), I became increasingly aware that I had bought the wrong handheld-HD-camcorder. The two major faults: a 25-min video recording limit (after 25 mins, recording stops and you have to press record again), and the fact that the memory card used by this camcorder is significantly more expensive compared to SDHC cards (for 16GB card: $100 versus $30 for SDHC).

Search YouTube for sample videos of the Aiptek GVS and buy that instead if you want a cheaper alternative that has many of the same features and more, but without the two aforementioned faults.

Digital camera Review: Simplicity
Summary: 5 Stars

Excellent for grandchildrens parties and christenings. And especially weddings. The Sony Webbie is perfect to carry.

Digital camera Review: Sony Webbie MHS-PM1 HD
Summary: 3 Stars

This is a neat camera but the only problem I have is that it
picks up the Zoom in and out noise when taking a video.
Picture quality is excellent, like the rotate lens and easy
to load pictures into computer.

Digital camera Review: Sony Webbie MHS-PM1 HD Camcorder opinion
Summary: 3 Stars

The swivel head is the best thing about this product. You can mount the
camera to different things like handlebars on a bike or a helmet. They
should have put the microphone on the swivel head though as well and made
the swivel head lock in place. The software that comes with the camera
does not allow you to convert the MPEG4 compressed HD to AVI or to other
formats so that you may edit the film in movie software and still retain its HD quality. And they should also allow the camera to keep recording till the battery runs out and have fixed interval recording. If they fix these items plus make the camera take AA batteries and SD cards and also increase the frames per second from 30fps to 60fps this camera can't be beat.

This is a great product, the only feature I would have liked for it to have was a FLASH for the pictures. But other than that I would recommend it.
