This case adds durability, and still allows use of all the buttons. It doesn't add hardly any size to the ipod, keeping it slim. Also when matched with a screen cover it protects the ipod 100% from scratches and drops. Also when playing games that require movement (bowling/golf), the case gives you a super grip to hold on tight to.
