This product is exactly what it looks like. So if you want a tough I-pod protector without cating much about external looks, this one is for you. But instead if you want your Ipod to look cute and slim and dond mind compromising on a bit of scratches here and there , go for the silcon ones .
Again it also depends on how much you pay for this product. I got it for under 10 bucks , so I am happy. But I wouldnt recommend this if you've to pay more than 15 for this.

This is a great protector for your iPod! It gives the iPod a small amount of bounce when dropped! The screen protector works well to maintain a clear screen. Some headphone connectors are difficult to fully insert with the skin on because of the length of its protection. Sliding the skin about 1 centimeter upward will fix this problem.Digital camera Review: it's okay

This is a great iPod carrying device that works well, even while working out. The "skin" protects against dropping and all sorts of jarring. It is not water proof, but it is clumsy proof for sure. The skin covers most of the iPod without blocking access to the scroll wheel, the bottom ports, or the hold bottom. The iPod does not typically slide inside the skin (won't fall out), but it may shift slightly, causing accidental button pushes. There is a screen protector that prevents all manner of scratches too. All in all, a great way to hold you iPod mini and keep it in great condition.Digital camera Review: Exceeded expectations

After a rebate, I got paid a dollar to take this. How could I pass up a deal like that? I'm very glad I bought this. I am very hard on my personal electronics, and both my phone and nano go flying at least once a week. I was using the Agent 18 Shock Kit cover and wasn't entirely happy--I didn't think it absorbed shocks well, the rubber bumpers fell off, and it was very hard to take my nano out of it. I absolutely love this Speck cover. My 2nd gen nano fits into it perfectly and it protects very, very well. I really love the ridges; they make it much easier to find while rooting around in my bag. I just wish it was clear so I could actually see the red on my nano, but at least the center button shows red.
