Digital camera Review: Cannot open battery compartment at all

I had high hopes that I would be able to open the battery compartment despite what the previous reviewer wrote. But no. It is impenetrable. Heed that warning!
I will have to return the item and my son will be without a digital camera on our upcoming vacation. The company's return policy "in original product packaging and condition" makes it completely unclear whether I will get my money back -- and of course the postage's been paid either way.
