I purchased this optical cable to connect my desktop PC to my Panasonic home theater system's receiver. After running the cable through the floor, being careful not to snag or bend the cable too much, I plugged it in and have been enjoying crisp, clean, outstanding quality sound transmission. I am completely pleased with this product. NOTE: Before attempting to plug the cable in, be sure to take out the small plastic filler protection plugs at each end of the connectors. Ordered this and received it in 3 days. Nice looking connections on the ends not cheap looking. Plugged right in and works like a charm. Had to buy a longer cable since I bought a new 32 inch Sony 1080p for my computer room and the receiver is behind where I sit so 20ft did the trick. Waiting on my Startech 15ft hdmi cable on Monday now to hook the new tv up to my PC as a second monitor. I see so many people buy these cables in retail and dont know to save lots and buy them here on Amazon. I obtained this cable so I could run Windows Media Player on my computer with the output going to a Dolby 7.1 home theater unit across the room. Plugged the cable in and it worked fine. Now, I can easily program many hours of music without constantly returning to the CD player to change discs.
Well worth the price.
