Bought two receivers and two buttons and have been using them for 3 months or more. Shortly after purchase, one of the receivers began issuing partial chimes without anyone pushing either button. Supplier did quickly replace the unit. Didn't matter, now both receivers are issuing chimes, partial chimes or just "dings" at random. Sometimes at 3 in the morning. Don't waste your money on this cheap system made in China.Digital camera Review: Works fine over a good distance.

It works well with very strong chime sound and optional flashing light. My unit works with 3 C batteries in the chime unit, but when I tried it with a 9V adapter unit as suggested, it did not work at
all, and I tried 2 adapters. I am using 3 rechargeable batteries in the chime unit. The little battery provided with the button unit is said to last a year, and I found a replacement is available for
that special battery at Radio Shack.
When I was testing both units in different locations before attaching to a wall, a battery would shift slightly and the chime
would not work. I taped the door of the chime unit shut so it holds the batteries in place. My button unit is in the lobby of
a 3 flat building, and the chime near the rear of our top floor
apartment. The signal carries that distance through the walls if the 3 C batteries are fresh.

I live in a small efficiency apartment, but have often missed deliveries [from Amazon] because I didn't hear the carrier's knock. You won't miss any deliveries with this! In fact, I had to place it in the closet because it is so loud. That is the only draw back, it needs to have a volumn control. If I lived in a larger apartment this probably would not be a problem. Even if I am in the shower, I can still hear this. Great price, great value.Digital camera Review: door bell
