Digital camera Review: Can Amazon please lern how to ship things?

Amazon had to ship a replacement tripod to me due to it being damaged the first time. Both packages were packed very poorly and I am surprised the second tripod works properly.
Once I was able to get past that, this tripod is what I expected. The quick-release heads are very useful if you have more than one camera. This tripod has bubble leveling on the tripod body, as well as on the heads. I would recommend this product to a casual photographer who is looking to stabilize their camera in almost any situation.

My tripod arrived with a small part already broken - the very end of the handle for cranking the camera up and down does not stay attached but I'm still able to raise and lower it with a little added effort. For this reason I did not return the tripod for an unbroken replacement. (Not worth the time/effort.) Aside from that problem, I love the tripod. It is compact yet can be raised to an incredible height (around 6 feet tall!) My favorite thing is the cork-lined base that is easily removed from the tripod. And they even included a spare! The first tripod I received had the head snapped off. I got a replacement shipped very quickly though. This is a good all-around tripod, seems sturdy, lots of adjustments, and works with my digital camera and lightweight video camera. The bubble level is crucial. This works fine for me - is easy to use and light to carry. If you are filming MMA or Muay Thai in a half cage, extend the legs straight down, spike-style, otherwise some heavyweights will clinch up and topple onto your new tripod before you can move and bust one of the struts.

I'm using this with a Nikon D40 with the 70/300 m lens. The tripod is perfect. It's fast and easy to put up and break down. It's just the right height. It' sturdily built and the hook at the bottom allows you to add extra weight in really windy situations. I couldn't ask for more.
