Fellow Canucks who are being lured away from this Amazon page by the promise of lower prices ($21/box) direct from Surefire may as well stick around and order from here- extensive personal research in the form of attempted web ordering, direct phone calling, and whimpering email pleas have shown me that the Surefire company will not have anything to do with orders that do not originate (ie, have a billing address) within the USA- even, as in my case, if one has a US address to ship to. Surefire is very firm about this and won't discusss the matter even when I offer my Amex or Citibank credit cards. Whether their policy is a self sacrificing expression of patriotism, or reflects a phobia about dealing with frozen foreigners, or what, I have found it necessary to order from these nice folks right here on Amazon- and their price is still the best alternate one I could find for name brand 123s anywhere. One gripe: the batteries I received in my last order are dated about a year ago, suggesting the loss of a year's potential storage but even if I was going to keep them that long, experience with other lithium batteries suggests 10 years is a conservative estimate of shelf life.
UPDATE: SINCE WRITING THE ABOVE, I HAVE BEEN ALERTED THAT BUNDLES OF 'TENERGY' LITHIUM 123s IN QUANTITIES OF 40 AND 50 ARE NOW (12/2009) AVAILABLE ON AMAZON AND AT MUCH LOWER PRICES PER UNIT. WHILE I HAVEN'T TRIED THESE YET, THE EARLY REVIEWS ARE GOOD BUT WITH INDICATIONS THE OFFSHORE BATTERIES DO NOT LAST AS LONG AS THE SF ONES.

I'm going to brief and to the point. Surefire lithium batteries are, in my estimation, THE BEST batteries you can get for LED flashlights. They're staying power in astounding!!! I would NEVER consider buying anything less for my LED flashlights...until something better comes along.
Sure they're expensive, but the BMW of batteries should be. Long story short...cheap is expensive!

I just wanted to post a review to let everyone know that the batteries I received today had a Nov 2020 expiration date. I can't speak for batteries being shipped in the future but I can say that I received three FRESH boxes.
These batteries might be a bit more expensive but I think the peace of mind is worth it. I've never had any trouble with any surefire products. I sleep soundly at night knowing that when I'm battling the undead after the zombie apocalypse, my flashlight won't let me down.

Surefire CR123A are excellent batteries. I use them. Just be aware that they are made by Panasonic. I cannot believe that Panasonic makes better batteries for Surefire, so if you can get a better deal for Panasonic batteries that are fresh (recent dates), then you are saving some dough and getting the same product.
