The pins in this tail were weakly attached, when connecting the #4 pin came loose and had to be hand aligned. Needed to pull the tail to replace a hard drive and the pins all came loose and would not reattach. Don't waste your money.Digital camera Review: Check if you really need it first

Bought this item as part of a custom built Intel Core i7 Processor i7-920 2.66GHz 8 MB LGA1366 CPU BX80601920 system with OCZ OCZ3P1333LV3GK DDR3 PC3-10666 1333 MHz 3GB Platinum XTC Triple Channel Kits for memory. Snapped right into the motherboard with no problems. Used the EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR X58 SLI Mainboard in this build inside the 10-Bay ATX Computer Case with 550W PSU & 9.84-Inch Blue LED Fan.
I should have know that the newer case would have already had these power cables. Not bad to have an extra but if you are doing a custom build check the PSU in the case that you buy first.

Got this as a package deal with my new 1TB hard disk drive and SATA cable. Hard disk drive was great. SATA cable was not great, but usable. But this power cable.... was way, way disappointing.
As some other people pointed out, the metal pins move freely and it's tricky to line them up to connect them. I could live with that. But even after the connection, it just fell off with ever so slight pressure. Scary. Dangerous. Imagining what would happen to my work when the power came off while I was doing something important on my PC scares me.
I ended up using some wire bit to tighten and secure the connection, so that I didn't have to worry about it. Certainly not the kind of thing you want to do on your PC. I'll go out and get a new power cable soon.
It gives me creeps to see people make this kind of product and Amazon.com provides it as a package deal. Never, ever, get this product.

Bought 2 of these and they are very nice. All connections are very secure. No deformed SATA connectors like ive seen before in some other cables. Highly reccomended.
