Digital camera reviews of TDK 4.7GB 16x DVD-R (100-Pack Spindle)

Digital camera Review: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! TDK DOESN'T HONOR WARRANTY!
Summary: 1 Stars

I swore by TDK disks for the last 3 years. They were rock solid. However, the last set of 100 I bought were terrible: I tried 10 from throughout the package and they were all bad. What happened was that TDK disks were made by CMC Magnetics or Daxon. Now they are made by Ritek and they are junk. Worse yet, when I contacted TDK and asked them to replace them they told me a great story, but I never got the replacement disks. The problem disks were tested on a Plextor PX-755SA (a premium drive) and a Plextor PX-850SA (actually manufactered by Lite-On).

Digital camera Review: About 33% Bad so far..
Summary: 1 Stars

Initially when I read these reviews, I thought.. eh, must be people who do not know how to use their dvd writers.. I thought TDK was a brand you could trust. Personally I always loved their cassette tapes and blank cds.

Well, after using about 15 discs, 5 were bad. During ther burning process everything seems to be fine. Play it back and you will know what I am talking about. All the errors are in the same spot and you can visually see it.

Where the TDK logo is on the disc, when you flip over the disc, you can see that the burn screws up right there. (Kinda looks like someone put a slim cigarette out on that spot)

STILL, giving TDK the benefit of the doubt, I tried with my other DVD writer. Same exact problem.

I own a SONY Writer and an NEC Writer..

I do not blame the drives anymore..

Usually when I purchase blanks I really shop around and go with generic brands with great ratings, but due to the matter of convenience, I used amazon to make this purchase figuring a few more dollars for a name brand, I won't lose... I was wrong.

Just buy another brand, this one is not for you.

Digital camera Review: All the way with TDK
Summary: 5 Stars

TDK DVD's cost more ... sometimes a lot more. But for reliability, and an extremely low incidence of skipping and freezing while dubbing or viewing discs, stay with TDK.

Digital camera Review: Always a Good Choice
Summary: 4 Stars

TDK DVD- & DVD+ media are always a Good Choice. Very Few Coasters with this media. I would give them 5 stars, but I do have one problem with them. The burned side seems to show light scratches more than I'd like. It doesn't usually effect the playback. But, for that reason, I use Taiya Yuden blank media for DVDS I want to burn for the long term. TDK is multitudes better than Memorex or Maxell, which are pure junk. This has a pretty good disc dye for the price.

Digital camera Review: Always worked
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my second spindle batch. I had no issues. Great quality at a great price.
