A great little KVM switch for home use. If you have only two computers and you want use just one set of keyboard and mouse, this is a very handy piece of hardware. This is our second TRENDnet KVM TK-209 switch! The question was whether they really would work with Logitech wireless keyboards and mice having the USB dongle input to the TRENDnet switch...and output to independent monitors as well as to stereo Logitech speakers. It works!! Started up just like advertised.
Both TRENDnets are at separate his/her work stations in a home office each having a laptop and PC running XP or WIN 7. If TRENDnet had only figured out how to have all the connectors on the back of the switch so that the cabling is less messy, I would rate it a SIX!!!

My wife uses this switch daily. She uses her office laptop at home but doesn't have a docking station, so we use this switch to give her the big monitor and full-size keyboard.
For the price, my expectation was it would work for maybe a year and then we'd be shopping for another, more expensive model. Well it has now been 15 months and it's still going strong! My wife actually prefers to click the button on the unit rather than use the keyboard shortcut (double-tap CTRL key I think it is) and there is a slight delay before the mouse starts working. Overall, it's been a good purchase. If and when it does eventually fail, I'll probably just purchase this same model again.

I really like this thing. It is just what I needed for running 2 computers. It allows you to use one monitor, mouse, keyboard and set of speakers for 2 different computers. One of mine has XP pro and the other has Vista Premium and there were no problems. Simple to set up, just plug the keyboard, mouse, monitor and speakers into the switch then turn one computer on when the number one selector is on. Once it fully boots up switch to number two and turn that computer on and you are done!! Maybe 10 minutes at the most and your done. You have 2 switching options. One is a manual switch on the unit and the other is by tapping the scroll lock key twice. So cool. The only thing is I've noticed if you need to reboot one of the computers the switch can get confused as to which is one and which is two and get the commands confused so if you need to reboot one you just turn both off and repeat the step above of selecting one and turning it on then the other.
I would recommend this unit. Everything you need comes in the package. I'm very happy with it.
