Digital camera reviews of TRENDnet 2-Port USB KVM Switch Kit with Audio (Includes 2x KVM Cables) TK-209K (Blue)

Digital camera Review: DOA product-returned and switched vendors
Summary: 1 Stars

WAsted time trying to install this - called vendor tech support and after they tried a couple simple things they said it was a dud switch and to return for another one. I'm switching vendors!

Digital camera Review: Dead on Arrival
Summary: 1 Stars

Read lots of nice reviews. Unfortunately, mine showed up Dead On Arrival so I can't really comment much further. Very frustrating.

Digital camera Review: Decent with some quirks
Summary: 4 Stars

I've been using this KVM switch for close to two years now, and I found its performance satisfactory, albeit with some glitches. I use it to toggle between two laptops, one running Linux, the other Windows. It's feeding a 1600x1200 resolution monitor smoothly, although I have not tried it with games requiring high refresh rates. It worked fine at 50 fps, have not tried it at anything higher.

The first noticeable quirk is the 'Scroll Lock' hotkey, which requires a small setting to make it work on Linux. It's not the place to describe it here, and a better workaround is to use the 'Num Lock' key instead. The switch takes either, but the latter is poorly documented. This could be improved.

The more meaningful annoyance, is that every now and then it freezes. This seems to happen more when I use the hotkey to toggle repeatedly between computers without pressing many keys in between. There may be some buffer that is not cleared properly. When this happens, the only solution is to completely disconnect the switch, and reconnect it again.

Given its price, I think most people would be happy with it, in spite of its glitches. Personally I find them sufficiently annoying, certainly enough to convince me to experiment with something else next time I buy a KVM switch.

Digital camera Review: Did Not Work!
Summary: 1 Stars

This KVM switch did not work from the beginning, and I tried everything I was supposed to, including sending an emial to tech support, which gave me nothing. So, unfortunatly it did not work and I returned it for a Refund>

Digital camera Review: Disappointing
Summary: 1 Stars

The audio input did not work, which defeated the reason why I chose this product over other cheaper ones.
