Digital camera reviews of TRENDnet 2-Port USB KVM Switch Kit with Audio (Includes 2x KVM Cables) TK-209K (Blue)Digital camera Review: Does a great job, even with wireless keyboard Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned the Iogear 2-Port Compact KVM Switch for years, and it was great with wired keyboards. But when I switched from a Logitech wired Wave keyboard to the Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000, the Iogear wouldn't do a thing.
The TrendNet, by contrast, was totally plug-and-play. Not only did it work with the wireless keyboard and wireless mouse, it did so on the first boot. Even before Vista had a chance to install the drivers, I was able to use the USB wireless keyboard to enter my BIOS password. You can't beat that.
Also, switching between PCs is very fast, and you get the option of using either a hard switch or a keyboard shortcut, both of which work fine.
Digital camera Review: Does not work very well. Summary: 2 Stars
It simply doesn't work. The majority of the time I use it, windows will say "USB Device has malfunctioned". If I switch back and fourth enough times it eventually goes through, but it is incredibly annoying.
You should probably get a hardware switch, instead of a software switch like this.
Digital camera Review: Does the job Summary: 5 Stars
Easy to set up, and it works. What else can I say.
TRENDnet 2-Port USB KVM Switch Kit with Audio (Includes 2x KVM Cables) TK-209K (Blue)
Digital camera Review: Does the job well Summary: 4 Stars
This product works great. I have two PC's linked by this item to one monitor, pair of speakers and mouse. Only complaint is that it is not attractive and not discreet! It has connections on all sides meaning that it has cables splaying out everywhere. That's why I give it four stars and not five. It's a keeper though because it does what it's meant to do and it does it well. I use the hot buttons on the keyboard to switch between PC's and it works smoothly. I recommend this product.
Digital camera Review: Does what it is designed to do flawlessly Summary: 5 Stars
This does exactly what it is supposed to do, no problems after 3 months use. Only gotcha is you have to make sure the computers being attached are turned off before attaching the KVM.
