Digital camera Review: Cheap Adapter..Cheap Performance
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this Adapter (TEW-424UB ver 3) years ago when a relative was going to stay with me awhile and wanted use of my internet. I browsed Amazon and at the time it was the cheapest wireless adapter they offered (Still is, except for when sales are happening). I should have shelled out $10 extra and got a great adapter instead because 3-4 computers later someone is still using this adapter to connect at my house and it has the same problems.

The signal doesn't pick up quite as well as other adapters or cards people have connected to my network with. This is a combination I think of it being an internal antenna and being a cheap antenna but I've never had an issue where another adapter would connect and this one wouldn't. All but one of the computers it has been used on did not recognize the device and it only functions when you install the drivers and utility from the install disk. This wouldn't be a problem if the utility was more robust in features and had less bugs. The main issue is that (seemingly randomly) the connection will sometimes drop and either the utility will not load at all or when it does there is no option to enter the security key anymore. I've researched online and in both cases the only way to fix it is to uninstall and reinstall the drivers and utility.

The product retained 3 stars based on the fact that this "bug" doesn't happen too frequently, and despite being cheap the adapter has survived some serious physical punishment and still works.

Digital camera Review: Cheap, it works, but not very sensitive
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this about a month ago because the built-in Wi-Fi adapter in my laptop is intermittently failing.

The TRENDnet installed on my Windows 7 32-bit machine without any need for the CD that came with it. It works every time.

That said, it is much less sensitive than the adapter inside my laptop (when that one works). Right now, the TRENDnet is connected to my Wi-Fi router, which is about five feet from my computer, but it doesn't even see the systems that two of my neighbors have. The laptop's adapter can see both of those all the time.

For $12 it serves my purposes, but I sure couldn't use it when we travel and need to connect to RV park Wi-Fi systems.

Digital camera Review: Conexion
Summary: 5 Stars

Este es un producto sencillo, pero realmente ha funcionado de lo mejor de mi parte lo recomiendo con los ojos cerrado es muy bueno. y te dan 3 años de garantia.

Digital camera Review: Constant problems with little to no support
Summary: 1 Stars

I cannot recommend this adapter. Purchased and have had nothing but problems connecting to USB 1.1 PII 350 mobo.

Connections drop inconsistently, unit stalls my computer from booting/rebooting sometimes, requires me to remove all USB related devices from computer (including Intel Root Hub) and also requires TrendNet driver re-load to correct problem.

When functioning correctly, the adapter works flawlessly using WEP, WPA setup results in unit scanning all available channels with no connect. I am currently attempting to duplicate the issue on a newer computer with USB 2.0 ports.

It seems as soon as I fall asleep, so does the adapter and driver. I have discussed this issue with TrendNet and have requested to return the unit, maybe I got the rotten pickle in the barrel.

Overall, not completely satisfied with technical support staff, California-local support number, email answers are very generic and non-descript. (Ie: turn off firewalls, remove all driver instances and reinstall, unplug/replug, isolate USB devices, return unit if issue continues, etc.)

Digital camera Review: Dead after 4 days, Terrible Customer Service
Summary: 1 Stars

I picked up this item as a backup for some PCI wireless cards and had occasion to use it last week. I noticed that it was running REALLY hot, and had alright signal reception (not great, not poor) ~ it was acceptable for the price paid. Then it started dropping connections and failing to connect (mostly on starting the computer, it took a long time to connect). Then it died. I tested on several computers with the same result, Device Not Found or a 10 second cycle where the device would be found, then lost, then found, then lost... Sent an email to Trendnet customer service and waited. A few days later I Called because I hadn't gotten a reply and was treated Very poorly. Call ended with being told to take it back to the retailer where it was purchased... THEY DON'T EVEN WARRANTY THEIR OWN PRODUCTS. If products never failed, then I wouldn't have a gripe... but the fact is that they do fail, and the measure of a company is how they treat their customers. Given that, I could never recommend Trendnet to anyone.
