Digital camera reviews of TRENDnet 54Mbps Wireless G USB Adapter TEW-424UBDigital camera Review: Don't buy this item - Amazon remove this from your inventory Summary: 1 Stars
This USB NIC is cheap for a reason - it's junk! It lowers it Mbps rate for no known reason, it disconnects at will - and it kills the OS just by plugging it in with another USB device present - you yourself a favor and buy a linksys, cisco, dlink
Digital camera Review: Driver crashed my XP SP2 system repeatedly Summary: 1 Stars
I returned this product. The system never crashed before installation or after removal. Windows restored the system and warned me that a driver was the problem. They need to work on their driver. Avoid.

Digital camera Review: Easy to install and just works Summary: 4 Stars
Before purchasing this USB wifi adapter, I read a disturbing amount of user reviews that reported the adapter failed to work properly or stay connected. However, I downloaded the newest driver from the TrendNET.com website and the device installed without a problem. I unplugged my wired Ethernet connection and rebooted once the drivers were installed and the adapter came up working without problem using the default Windows XP wireless configuration. No need for a proprietary middleware program to run between the hardware and Windows XP's networking (which is a plus in my book). The adapter came with a 3" USB flex-firm extension cable that can be used to adjust the adapter's antenna direction or to fit the adapter into a cramped USB port area. I purchased two of these wifi adapters and each installed without a problem on two different machines (Epox and Asus motherboards both running Windows XP).
The only problem I experienced is the device sometimes connects at only 5.5 Mbps and not the maximum 11.0 Mbps that my very nearby Netgear 802.11b wireless router supports. This isn't a problem when using my DSL Internet connection but it is a problem if I'm transferring large files between my two machines via my wireless LAN. This is why I only give this device a rating of 4 out of 5 stars. Most of the time it boots up and connects at the expected 11.0 Mbps.
Digital camera Review: Easy to install and works great Summary: 5 Stars
I bought two of these for my kids' computers. One uses Windows ME and the other XP. Had no problems whatsoever with the installation of the software and connecting to my wireless network. Range was fine, signal said to be very strong. I would definitely recommend this adapter for this great price.
