This product was very helpful. It made checking out an existing network very easy. This tool saved us time and money. We were able to check out existing connectins as well as new ones. We were able to use existing wiring and not start for scratch. The previous reviews really helped in the decision to purchase this item. Worked perfectly in helping me locate a wiring problem in my house (swapped pairs). Recommended for any one doing any cabling work in their house. The TRENDware Cable Tester works as advertised. It supports standard ethernet and coaxial (comes with adapter plugs). The "auto" mechanism to successively test the various wires works well. The tone generator is very effective in figuring out which cable to connect - once you get to other end of it somewhere else in the house (this save you from having to switch to another tone generator). Bought this tester to assist with re-wiring my house. Worked great, couldn't have done the job without it. Comes with a short cat5 cable. The short cable came in handy for testing cat5 wall plates and keystones.
