Digital camera Review: A perfect DAY PACK style backpack for DSLR owners

I suspect people will approach this product with various ideas of how it ought to be used or how they want to use it. I approached this bag with the desire to have all the things I need for a regular day with me in one bag. That's my laptop and iPad for work and relaxation. That's lunch and a few random accessories like headphones and an AC adapter for the laptop. And of course, my D90 with extra lenses, cleaning tools, etc.
This bag is perfect for the use I had envisioned. It's comfortable enough for regular day use. I would reconsider this bag if you were going to be wearing it on long hikes totally packed down or something, as the straps are a bit narrow and there is not a full harness. Walking to buses or cars and so forth is fine, though. Even short hikes are fine.
The only problem I've had so far is that there is TOO MUCH space for my D90 which does not have a grip. I've had to rig up a little extra padding to feel good about that one aspect as without it, when the bag goes vertical (its normal wearing position) the camera falls a few inches down and up against the side access door. I don't think this is actually going to risk its safety but, just to appease my nervousness I pulled a couple pads from another tamrac bag I have and velcroed them in to fill a little space at least until I get a grip and reorganize the whole structured area a bit better for my specific needs.
At any rate, this is a great day pack and I'd strongly recommend it for anyone who has similar needs as myself. I simply want to have my camera and a basic lens loadout with me at all times, in case I see something beautiful to photograph. Before I got this bag I would always make up some excuse as to why I didn't want to carry several bags out to the car and ultimately miss numerous great situations for some nice pictures. Not anymore! Thanks for catering to this particular audience, Tamrac.

Tamrac's Speed Pack 85 Dual Access Photo/Laptop Backpack is the perfect carrying solution for the photographer who prefers the comfort of a backpack, but doesn't want to sacrifice the ability to quickly and easily access photo gear. To accomplish this, Tamrac developed an innovative Dual Access System that allows fast access through the side door when the pack is worn over one shoulder. Like a traditional photo backpack, equipment can also be accessed through the front panel with the pack is removed. This versatile backpack holds and protects a DSLR with a grip and lens attached (including most 70-200mm f/2.8 zoom lenses), 2-3 additional lenses and accessories. A separate, foam-padded laptop compartment holds most 17-Inch screen laptops. For weather protection, the side door is equipped with a water-resistant zipper while the front panel has a weather flap. Inside the side door, accessory pockets hold memory cards, lens caps and other accessories. In addition to the completely foam padded bottom compartment, the pack has a large top compartment perfect for personal items, such as a lunch or light jacket. An elasticized mesh side pocket provides convenient access to a water bottle. The pack features a carrying handle and a comfortable, foam-padded backpack harness contoured to distribute the weight of the camera gear across the shoulders.
