I purchased this lens instead of two or three other lenses. I do wish I had the extra money for the Tamron 18-270 lens with vibration reduction but for the amount extra I could not justify it. I was fortunate enough to purchase this lens while Tamron was offering a $60 mail in rebate that i just received the other day. Great travel lens with plenty of versatility. The quality is far from USM glass obviously but for the money and peace of mind knowing how much it costs, you dont have to worry about losing it or getting it stolen. The quality is acceptable and is pretty good for what it is. I would say the photo quality is slightly better then the Canon 18-55mm IS kit lens.Digital camera Review: Great all around lens
