Digital camera Review: Not as pictured

Look closely at all of the pictures available for this product. The one I was shipped is not the same as the one that shows up on the main product page. My model has many fewer vent holes and isn't substantial enough to support the weight of my 15" Gateway (thin and light) laptop when opened flat. It will suffice, however, as a stand, and does seem to provide as much room for air movement under the laptop as if it were sitting on a flat surface. This stand is too flimsy for my large laptop. It might work for a smaller one. A much better solution is the Allsop Metal Art Notebook Stand.

I have a 15" HP Pavillion laptop and this product works well for me. I sit on the couch with it and just use the mouse on the sofa although there is room on the stand for it.
NOTE: The new one I bought looks a little different than the one pictured but basically the same design.

PROS: The product works. It's lightweight, the rubber grip keeps my laptop on the lapdesk without any sliding (even when I have it on an angle), and finally the grooves on the lapdesk prevent my laptop from over heating when its on my legs or bed. I paid $23.24. A little pricey for a piece of plastic, but it does function as designed. CONS: In my opinion, from the pictures, the product looks like it's made of metal. It's not. It's actually a flimsy plastic, that is why it is so lightweight. When I pick up the lapdesk with my laptop on it, the plastic bends a little, but it does seem sturdy.
Also, in the picture, it shows a place to put your mouse. All the black you see on the lapdesk is actually a rubber coating that prevents things from skidding off of it. The only downfall is you have a hard time dragging any type of mouse (optical or track and ball) over a rubbery surface. You will most likey need an optical mouse, so you can at least use it somewhere next to you on the bed or something. Or perhaps place a piece of paper over the rubbery part helps too.
I mainly use this product at home. I would have given it five stars, if it weren't for the bending of the plastic and the rubbery surface where you can't put your mouse on.

Excelent product. On the flat position is excelent to place other periferals on the sides. Folded with the inclination it gives you a great position for writing. The ventilation of your cooling fans bellow are posible with this great product. In adition to all you can use it to move your computer from one place to another with some peripherals on it.
