Bought this for my 88-year old mother-in-law who had trouble with a standard remote because of the onset of Alzheimer's. She is so relieved to be able to use the remote herself again! Set up was easy. She uses it for her bedroom tv that is a secondary set hooked to Comcast cable. We did not try one on the main tv that uses the Comcast remote, so I don't know if it could replace that as well. The only problem is that the mute button does not function with her tv, but the down volume control works speedily enough. Besides, it probably is best that it won't work so that she can't accidentally lose her sound and not know why. Recommended!Digital camera Review: Great product

I bought this for my grandmother. She received a new TV for Christmas in preparation for the change to digital over the air television. Her old TV still had the twit knob style channel selector, and her Alzheimer's would have made learning the new remote nearly impossible. I wanted her to have a simple remote that would be very easy to use and not allow her to access the TV's menu system.
This remote is great. Programming it was a breeze. It does exactly what it needs to do. It is large and easy to handle. The text and buttons are also large, making them very easy to read and press.
Overall, this remote is exactly what we needed, and it has worked beautifully.

When the digital tv changeover happened, I bought a convertor box
for my elderly mother's tv. But she would not use it and often sat
in the dark alone.
I finally took a gamble and bought her a new LCD tv, so no
convertor box needed, and bought a few of the "senior" remotes
to try for myself. I decided on this one and am very happy with it.
The trick was in setting up her new tv - I let it find all the
channels available thru her antenna and then deleted the ones
she would not watch. She has 9 channels to surf through and that is perfect!
Unfortunately, the PC, HDMI and AV1 options on the tv show up as
channels when she is surfing and I cannot delete them. Also, I wish the
channel identifier in the upper left corner of the screen when you
change channels was much larger, but both of those are issues with the tv
not the remote.
Overall, I am VERY happy with this remote. The large buttons that
light up when in use are great. Her mood has even perked up since
getting it and that is priceless! To anyone in this situation I would
definately recommend giving this a try.
