Digital camera Review: A Reasonable Working Solution For The Patient

As described by previous reviewers, this product is not a be-all-end-all solution to telemarketing calls. So be it; the product does not make that claim. Short of releasing a Mission Impossible style nerve gas through the telephone lines, I would doubt any product would be able to do it all, all of the time.
Also as previously described, a user will still be required for a time to suffer the inconvenience of picking up the phone so the computer on the telemarketer's end can "hear" the beep tones. So be it. I am similarly inconvenienced when I set a mouse trap in my apartment or spray insecticide on wasp nests. It is well worth it to use my time if ultimately a solution is found.
In the months before installing my Telezapper, I was fielding an average of six to nine solicitation calls each day. Most I would not answer, since my caller ID box would show an 800 number, or something from an area code unfamiliar to me. Still, it was very annoying to have the phone ringing this often between 8am and 9pm six days each week.
Installed for three weeks on the zapper's "basic" setting, the number of solicitation calls were reduced to one call per day. Another two weeks on the "advanced" setting, the calls were reduced to perhaps two each week.
At no time during its use did I have any static or sound problems; nor did it interfere with my DSL internet connection.
The only issue I had with the telezapper was its zapping away calls from pay telephones -- for which I simply unplugged it from a dual-line adaptor I had hooked to my wall jack whenever my caller ID box showed "Pay Phone" as the caller. I have since disconnected it to stop unsuspecting friends from laughing at the beep tones which precede my saying "hello."
So for a month and a half, I still had to pick up the receiver, and in the end, the calls are not erradicated completely. Nonetheless, for such good result with such minimal effort and expense, I'm unable to find fault with this product for its lack of complete, total, and utter perfection as other reviewers appear inclined to do.
To the makers of this product I say without equivocation, "Well Done."

Based on the enormously popular classic Telezapper, the newer Telezapper TZ 900 offers the advantages of a slimmer profile, built-in battery power, and an advanced three-tone mode.
Here's how it works: Given that more than 90 percent of telemarketing calls are placed with computer assistance, when either you or your answering machine answers the phone, the Telezapper emits a special tone that tells the computer your number has been permanently disconnected. Telemarketing companies that use automated dialing systems typically remove disconnected numbers from their calling lists, and as your phone number is eliminated from more and more telemarketing lists, you'll notice fewer calls. Of course, not all telemarketers use predictive dialing systems, and those that do will undoubtedly continue their work to evade the Telezapper, but it can be a partial solution.
Most predictive dialing systems will be fooled by the Telezapper's standard single tone. However, for newer dialing systems (presumably designed in response to the success of the previous Telezapper model), the TZ 900 offers an advance three-tone mode. To change the mode, unscrew and remove the protective case and then slide a recessed switch. (We suggest that Privacy Technologies put the switch on the outside for their next model.)
For the most part, regular callers are unaffected by the Telezapper, but it may "zap" calls from other organizations that use the same predictive dialing technology (such as charities, pollsters, and automated emergency weather systems) and from callers who use certain types of calling cards. Installation takes seconds. Just plug the Telezapper into your phone line and your phone into the Telezapper. It's that simple.
