Digital camera reviews of Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified High-Definition Antenna for Off-Air HDTV ReceptionDigital camera Review: + Summary: 5 Stars
I was skeptical after so many bad antenna. This is the only one that worked.
Digital camera Review: 23 Channels Come in Clearly Summary: 5 Stars
I love this antenna. We have a Sony HD LCD with basic cable and wanted to test out its HD capability. I tried a lower-priced model first and only received three channels. The Terk brings in 23 perfectly clear stations with no distortions. I'm not sure how close we live to the sources, but we're in a condo downtown, so we're probably close.
Also, there is only one cable that connects the Terk to the TV. The plug is on the same line, so there aren't too many messy wires peeking out. I hid the antenna in a window behind a curtain so no one has to see it.
Update (02/2010): After nearly 2.5 years of use (and abuse...stupid gravity), this antenna is working better than ever. After the digital conversion, we now receive at least 30-40 channels.
My one caution is that helicopters cause interference with the signal. We learned this the hard way living near the White House, where there is near-constant chopper action.
Digital camera Review: 25 out of 33 channels received are perfect! Summary: 5 Stars
25 perfect channels out of 33 total! I'm in an old neighborhood full of huge oak trees. Here in the Clearwater, Florida all station towers are to the East of me (the water is to the West), so it makes positioning the antenna a one-time-only task. The antenna could be annoying if I had to position it often, since as others have stated it could use a little more weight in the base for stability. However, it is fine if all your towers are in one direction, and you don't have to adjust it very often.
Digital camera Review: 2nd Amplified Antenna Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this second amplified antenna hoping to get better reception, well after two weeks I must say I haven't had a evening of interrupted viewing! Looks like the one is stronger than my last. Amazon.com is quickly becoming my New Online Shopping Center. Prices are comparable or usually less than most competitors! Great job Amazon!!
Digital camera Review: 45 miles away and i can get HD Summary: 5 Stars
Depending on the map I'm 40-45 miles away from the network towers i wanted to get reception from. We switched to Directv, but no locals in HD thus the need for this antenna. Setup was simple, screw the antenna to the amp, the amp to the tv, a quick scan and i was ready. My television scan shows me getting 8 digital channels, although a couple aren't coming through at the moment, this is inconsequential as the networks I wanted to receive in HD, I am. Honestly I'm pretty suprised, like I said I'm 45 miles away and in a basement, really I expected to plug this in and send it back for an outdoor roof mounted antenna, obviously I'll keep this quite happily. Notes: I'm in the middle of a city but really 40 of those 45 miles are flat land and extremely rural. The antenna is sitting on my floor in a basement. Only con is the length of the coax, maybe 10 ft, for me a little more maneuvering room would be nice, but for the price and the fact that it works, i don't really care.
