Digital camera reviews of Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified High-Definition Antenna for Off-Air HDTV ReceptionDigital camera Review: A lot better than rabbit ears - but not perfect Summary: 4 Stars
It set up easily. It requires AC power. It gets me most of the channels, when plain rabbit ears gave me none. The direction it's pointed means everything, and sometimes the stations drop out. I think I live in a difficult reception area. I'm about 20 miles from downtown, but there's a hillside between my home and the transmission towers.
Digital camera Review: A piece of Junk Summary: 1 Stars
This is a crap, does not work in Brookyn (Bensonhurst) at all. Has poor signal in Elmhurst Queen where Phillips has no problem at all. Don't buy this.
Digital camera Review: A pretty damn good indoor antenna! Summary: 4 Stars
Basically, I set up the Terk HDTVa like it's depicted. I did, though, have to extend the two diopole antennas a bit. But it was, more or less, a "set it and forget it" situation.
As to what I can pick up? Realistically, you have to forget about stuff that nobody watches. The only one's that you should be worrying about trying to pick up are the "Big 6" channels:
1) NBC
2) ABC
3) CBS
4) FOX
5) CW
6) PBS
Out of all of them, the only one I don't get a truly solid lock on is my local NBC affiliate (but that might change if I move the antenna closer to the window than it is now). Everything else, though, comes in just fine. But with all the different materials that are in an apartment building (cement, dry wall, steel beams, electrical wiring) I was worried that I wouldn't get anything at all. With digital signals, though, all you have to worry about is pointing the antenna in the right direction, and you'll get some pretty fabulous results. Especially with signal amplification.
BTW: Make sure to go to a website like AntennaWeb dot org to find out just where to point your antenna to achieve the best overall results. It helped me a lot!
Digital camera Review: A so-so product Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this one to replace my old crappy one, but there is no difference in channels it captures or the picture quality. And its base is too small, very hard to stand still while the cord keeps bulging out.
Digital camera Review: A very good HDTV antenna Summary: 4 Stars
The Terk HDTV indoor antenna provides very sharp HD images when it is positioned in the right direction. It is working well with both VHF and UHF stations. One drawback is the base becomes unstable when the two telescopic antennas are widely extended.
