Digital camera reviews of Terk HDTVa Indoor Amplified High-Definition Antenna for Off-Air HDTV ReceptionDigital camera Review: Amazing Reception IN MY BASEMENT!!! Summary: 5 Stars
Once I overcame a small issue of user error (plugged the coax into the wrong jack on the back of the TV) I've had an amazing experience with this antenna. I live in West Jordan, UT and I'm 13.1 miles from the broadcast towers. I'm not sure if having the towers on a mountain helps but I've consistantly had 97+ signal strength tunning HD channels in my Basement. The TV is next to a wall without a window and I've run the cable into my basement pantry under the staircase. The antenna is facing the cement foundation of my basement so it would be in line with the broadcast towers and I'm still getting amazing reception! I've had the antenna fall over a few times and I still get signals. While I cannot guarentee you will have as much success as me if you install this antenna in your basement (the manufactures FAQ says you cannot install this in a basement), I want to put an opinion out there that if you are resonably close to your broadcast towers you should give this antenna a shot. The worst that could happen is you end up returning it to Amazon and getting your money back.
Digital camera Review: Amazing antenna Summary: 5 Stars
I live on the north side of Chicago in a brick building. Previously I used the Philips PHDTV1 Silver Sensor UHF/HDTV Digital Indoor TV Antenna. This antenna was very directional based and I would spend anywhere from 1-15 minutes positioning it in all kinds of positions before I could actually get a signal on most channels. If it was moved an inch it would lose signal and need a few seconds to recover.
I just received the Terk in the mail today and immediately after hooking it up it picked up all my channels. I was able to switch between NBC5 and Fox32 without so much as moving the antenna's direction at all.
I could not recommend this antenna more.
Overall I get about a 70-90 percent signal on major channels without the amplification. The amplification, while a nice touch, only helps about 10 percent which is not noticeable at all.
Do not waste your time on other antennas, this was a very fortunate buy for me. Now I can enjoy the Olympics next week in crystal HD!
Digital camera Review: Amazing antenna which gives free HD channels! Summary: 5 Stars
I live in Lynnwood WA which is about 20 miles away from downtwon seattle.
I bought this antenna just to test if it would really work, but it actually worked perfectly for my samsung LCD TV.
It gives me about 30 channels including 6 HD channels. Now I don't have pay for damn expensive cable tv.
This antenna worked perfectly for me but I guess the matter of working or not for this antenna really depends on where you live.
Digital camera Review: Amazing little antenna. Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this system to use with a small, portable HD TV. Works like a champ, even from my dining room table.
Digital camera Review: Amazing little product. Summary: 5 Stars
I originally thought the other reviews were BS. I was only hoping for a little better reception of my old 2 UHF/VHF channels, but ended up with about 30; and many of those in HD. The "christmas tree" appearance might be a little lame, but there's no doubt this antenna is nothing short of amazing.
