Digital camera Review: Nice, Effective, A Bit Confusing

I have an old TI-89 and I needed this unit to upgrade my TI's OS. When I installed the software and launched the application my PC could see my calculator but many functions weren't available to me. Ultimately I figured out how to upgrade my 89's OS and all is well.
The unit is perfect but you may need to play around with it to get it working right if you've got an older OS on your TI.

This product does not work with windows Vista in any way shape or form. XP is fine and lower id assume, but a no go with Vista. Works phenomenal with windows XP. Software is easy to understand and use.

Ordering and delivery were prompt. The product works as advertised. I researched this product at length, including the Texas Instrument site, and Found that Amazon was cheaper for the same product. Two things to keep in mind are that the user MUST ABSOLUTELY use windows XP/98/ME for the product to work properly. The TI site said it was compatible with Vista and I found out that it is not and even in compatibility mode will not function with Vista. The TI site also says that there are lots of free apps available for download. There are lots of free apps available especially for students using the calculator for physics data gathering applications. I am in College algebr and purchased it as it was a requirement for class. There are only a couple of apps for algebra and they are not very good. Several apps offered are far too large for the calculators memory. Everything has to be deleted in order for them to fit. Fortunate;y, the program allows the usaer to back-up all programs on the calculator prior to making any changes. The patch cable itself works well and as advertised. If you're wanting apps to go along with it i suggest looking at the TI site prior to purchasing to see if there is anything there that will work for you. Like I said, lots of cool apps for the upper egg-head classes, but nothing that will help to learn algebra other than what comes with the calculator.Digital camera Review: Simple easy to use link
