I bought this calculator to save myself time when I eventually sit for Exam 2/FM of the joint SOA/CAS actuarial examination process. The calculator that I got, however, was NOT the one from the picture above. Mine was all gray; with a gray top (instead of the sleek black); and black operator buttons (=, +, -, x, /) instead of blue. But it functions the same!
It's a great calculator for valuating basic annuities and doing simple interest rate conversions and the like, especially for those with Fear of Math Complex. I believe the factory preset is set so that the calculator operates in chain mode instead of algebraic mode. That is, 5+4*3 = 27 instead of 17. Make sure you get out of that unfortunate preset!
Would've been 5 out of 5 if I got the calculator that was pictured when I first bought it!

I needed this for my finance class, and it works perfectly. I wish it would come in nicer colors though. They only have brown and gray.
