This is pretty much the perfect calculator for high school, get one, learn it, use it. However, for how long this has been around (original 83 replaced with the 83+ when I was in high school a decade ago or more), by now it should have a friggin VGA color touchscreen and 50x the computing power. Texas instruments must make insane profit off selling the same cheap-ass components to millions of high school kids every year.
Of course you still have to get one for high school math, so too bad.

All I can say is... You will be better off if you completely learn how to master this calculator.

I think the upgradeability of this calculator is fantastic, plus the large screen size and ability to do complex tasks is great. However, the manual is about as thick as any novel I've ever read. Buy this calculator, especially if your school recommends it.
