Digital camera reviews of Texas Instruments TI-89 Titanium Graphing CalculatorDigital camera Review: Awsome Ti-89 Titanium Graphing Calculator Summary: 5 Stars
Awsome Calculaotr! My daughter needed a TI-83 or TI-84 for a college Algebra class. The TI-89 was only $20-30 more and had much greater capacity and potential. Easy to use, program and upgrade. She will be able to use this for college statistics, calculus, and business classes as well as for the algebra.
Digital camera Review: Back to school bargain Summary: 5 Stars
Buying these slightly used calculators on Amazon is something that colleges tudents need to know about..price savings are substantial and well worth it
Digital camera Review: Bad Key Input Design (sin, cos, tan) Summary: 1 Stars
Very bad keyboard design, because is not like the ti-83, where you can press once to calculate sine, cosine, or tangent. On this calculator, they replace those three MAIN buttons for y,z,t. As a result if someone wants to calculate or graph sin (x), he must press the key "2nd" "Y", ridiculous pain in the neck.
But graphing, taking the derivatives, and integrating is way much faster than the TI Voyage 200. Also it has better documentation, the rest is the same operating system.
Digital camera Review: Best Calculator out there for High Shcool Summary: 5 Stars
I bought it and so far its been the best calculator you can use in high school. I find it handy in math B2 and B3 to I guess to have an upper hand, but its not cheating, cause its legal, but I feel I have an advantage over the other kids since they cant do stuff like solve quadratic equations, expand powers, and use x and anyother variable to actually equal that variable, so x wactually equals x unlike my older calculator the TI-83 Silver Edition. Also thers a load of programs you can download for other classes, I prefer the chemestry application which comes in habd y in AP Chemestry.
In all if your loking for a great calculator and gain an advantage over others, without cheating, get this calculator, it also makes a great present, though I rather get something else, like a video game.
Digital camera Review: Best Handheld Calculator I've Ever Used Summary: 5 Stars
I upgraded from the TI-83+ Silver to this calculator when I started taking calculus. After using this calculator for several months, I still think it is the best calculator I have ever used. There is a large online developer community, so you can find a program to do just about anything. TI even has a version of the Geometer's Sketchpad that runs on the calc. It is much easier to program than the TI-83, and any functionality this calculator seems to lack can be easily added (and probably already has been -- just look online). The CAS on this calc (especially the incredibly versatile "solve(" function) is an invaluable tool in any math class from algebra onward.
Overall, the only real complaint I have is that the keyboard layout is a little bit clumsy, but after a while you will get used to it. This small problem is not nearly enough to stop me from giving this calculator my highest reccomendation. This is a 5-star product indeed.
