Digital camera Review: Great Solution for Non-Nike Runners

I bought the Nike IPod Sensor when it first came out and had been disappointed because I do not run in Nike shoes. At the time, there were no commercial workarounds and I had been taping the sensor to my shoe with athletic tape. Although the sensor was secure from a loss perspective, the results were not as consistent as I would have liked them to be (presumably because the sensor is required to be immobile relative to the shoe).
Since I've been using the Shoe Pouch in the last few months, the results have been completely consistent. One initial concern I had was having to unlace my shoes to use the pouch, but it turned out not to be much of a hassle. I've done for two pairs of shoes now and it didn't take that long and I think the stable installation of the pouch is an advantage over those types of pouches that clip in.
I have also liked that the the shoe pouch is light (I don't notice it when I'm running). Finally, I've been happy with the quality of the materials. Running through water or through high grass has not caused the pouch to shift. Effective and easy to use solution!

I bought the Nike Plus system thinking I could put the sensor in my laces, but I couldn't get it to stay. After it flew out of my show a couple times I decided to order the pouch. I'm so glad I did! What a great product. Super easy to attach and always works. It saved me from having to go buy the special Nike shoes for $100! I don't wear Nikes but have had the Ipod/Nike kit for a year and use it religiously. Originally I sewed a piece of velcro on the tongue of my shoe, then glued a piece of velcro on the transmitter, attaching it under the laces. When I purchased new shoes, I couldn't find a thread/needle, so I STAPLED the velcro onto the tongue and then attached the transmitter under the laces...needless to say, the purchase of the $6.95 shoe pouch was well worth the agony of stapling and gluing my shoes and checking every mile or two to make sure that the transmitter was still there. Some would consider me cheap for not buying the manufactured product, I consider myself creative...The shoe pouch, however, is one item I should have bought a long time ago. This product arrives on time and works as advertised. I do think that a solution that was easier to switch between shoes easier would be good, but these are cheap enough that you can buy a few of them anyways.
