Digital camera Review: Credit Card-sized Picture Viewer

The credit card-sized digital frame comes with software and a USB cable to connect the frame with the computer. After installing the software, I dug right in selecting the pictures and uploading them to the digital frame. While it was a breeze to load photos on the photo viewer, it has a clunky interface -- both on the viewer and desktop software -- that looks outdated.
The charge doesn't last long. We used it when we first received it and then hadn't used it since. In doing this review, I found the device's battery dead.
For portrait-sized pictures, you need to move the square box that appears in the picture preview to decide where to crop it. It's not possible to make it crop without cutting off some part of the picture.
Connect the digital photo viewer to the computer and run the program to view all the current pictures. Just delete a picture to remove it and find more pictures to add to it. Simple.
The viewer contains three buttons: left and right (for going forward and backwards with the slides) and the control to turn it off or change options. You can choose between Auto Slide mode and Manual Slide. Even in Auto Slide, you can advance or go back a slide by pressing the left and right buttons. Auto Slide mode also lets you change the time between slides. The options interface looks something reminiscent from DOS software, but it takes little work to figure it out.
Both Manual and Auto mode have transition effects. The effects work fine. Some people, however, don't like effects and you can't turn them off. The quality of the pictures is decent -- not the sharpest nor the worst.
We got this for a very good price otherwise it's not worth more than $10. It does the job well and just about anyone can figure it out. The digital viewer also comes with a case to protect it.
