Digital camera Review: Best converter box?

Very good converter to DTV in a "black"box" type add on unit.BUT, why it is NOT the very best one,is because if a station has TWO sent signals say, channel 7-1 and channel 7-2 You can NOT go directy to 7-2 ,first but must go first to 7-1.A bit annoying. Zenith WILL go directly to 7-2 for instance. This nit picking aside, Tivax is one of the very best units in flexability, and picture quality,but, at number 2 behind Zenith but far far better then say Lasonic for instance.I would recomend this product.Digital camera Review: Best investment alternative to cable

I'm an armchair shopper who extensively uses the internet as a valuable tool for getting what I think is the best value for my hard earned money. After several weeks of searching, we decided that the Tivax STB-T8 was the unit we wanted. Much to our surprise, this unit is not available at any local retail merchant. So, we ordered online, and our unit arrived almost a whole week of the given target date for delivery.
The setup was easy and flawless ... a child could do this ... once the unit was attached to the TV set and antenna, upon first powering up it began its search for available TV transmission signals. Minutes later we were watching TV for basically nothing with the same clarity as we had before on cable, but now without the $60 per month charge for watching local channels which we are now watching for free.
I would personally recommend this unit to anyone considering its purchase. It may cost a few dollars more, but it's worth it, and you won't be disappointed with this Tivax unit. And, we were able to use our $40 rebate coupon (card) for this purchase, another plus.

Has a good picture quality. The remote is a little troblesome when trying to turn on and off the converter box and the function buttons are not symetrically located. They seem out of sync with each other. I find this one has, overall, a much better quality than the first two I had to return.

This is a perfecly capable box. Only function I miss is universal remote to control TV power, channel, & volume. My other DTV Box, the Zenith is no longer available and has that-it is an excellent unit. However, The Tivax seems to not have to have the antenna adjusted as much PERIODICALLY as the Zenith. Recommmend this unit.
