Digital camera Review: Clear digital channels, but quality is nothing to be excited over

So I bought this dtv box with the govt. coupon, costing me a total of 10.83. Amazon managed to ship it to me in quality time, although to save on shipping [free] I apparently agreed to a later shipping out date. Oh well.
As I opened the package, the box is small, like others have stated. It comes with 2 separate cables. It literally took me a few long minutes [too long] to figure out the instructions. The first thing I want to note is that the instructions are horrible. The manual displays a picture of where which cable goes and where it needs to be plugged on the TV, not literally. Sure the picture displays red, white and yellow goes to Audio In R, L, and Video but if you're not familiar FAMILIAR, or just not familiar in general with instructions, you`ll be confused for the first few minutes. ALSO, after some assistance, our TV was only showing up a fuzzy screen. There were no step by step instructions, that you have to switch to VIDEO 1 [at least in my location] to set the menu. I just played with it and thought to try it out. After waiting for it to scan the available channels, excited to see more channels than I had hoped, it was the exact same local channels. I don`t know why, or maybe it`s new york, or my tv. Anyhow, the choice of caption is available, although the words are tiny. There is a GUIDE, but limited to a basic title of the shows coming up, but sometimes gives a description.
Overall, I`m not satisfied with it b/c there are not as many digital channels as I had hoped. A side note, I believe everytime you want to search for more digital channels, it does the whole search all over again, back to square one, very inconvenient and time consuming.

I searched the internet for some popular brands and saw lots of negative comments. I came across the Tivax as a recommended model on the government website. AFter looking it up on Amazon and other places I saw mostly positive comments so bought one. It worked very well and I've had it for 2 months. So I bought one for Mom's place and that ones working well too. I have 3 Insigna's but cold not easily find one around. The unit is complete junk. It worked for about 36 hours, then stopped providing any audio output.
The unit displays the signal fine and was able to tune in most of the DTV signals.
I would not buy this unit again.
Also, the remote is not a universal remote and cannot control the volume on your TV or even turn the TV on/off.
So you will be using two remotes with this product.

A device that replaces the tuner on my TV should be able to turn off my TV. This Tivox doesn't. All else is fine, but to me it is a big deal that I have to keep the TV remote around just to turn the TV on and off. One more thing to keep track of and operate. The Zenith converter box includes the ability to program a button that turns off the TV too. That's my choice.Digital camera Review: Consumer Reports Picked Best

I choose this box because consumer reports stated this one as one of the best quality picture and came with cables, remote, etc. I do recommend this unit, but also recommend that you make sure that you select a good antennea if you want to receive all the channels.
