Digital camera Review: 1 Star... Because Negative-Star Rating Doesn't Exist.

From the moment I unwrapped the box only to discover that Tom Tom did not include an AC power charger, I felt a sense of dread.
After training myself on the device for a solid two hours (which I was warned to do based on another Amazon review), I took my device out for a business trip to CA.
The Basics:
- The system is over-designed and rendered unusable by the average user due to its complex electronic architecture, functions and on-screen lexicon. Note to self: if you have difficulty assembling Ikea furniture, or are not a MENSA member, you'll HATE this unit.
- Unlike Garmin, TT's audio script doesn't mention the street name (i.e., in 500 feet, make a right onto Gilbert Street).
- The Bluetooth phone-thru-GPS device somehow eliminated the voice prompts, never to be speak again.
- In downtown LA, the device took me the long way around for every destination, adding many stressful moments to what should have been easy outings.
- I am not a litigious person by any means, but I think usage of this device took off 1 year from my longevity and so thoughts wandered to whether I should sue TT for shortennig my life expectancy, however, I DID survive the trip long enough to return this disaster to Amazon and instead, purchased the Garmin 750 from which I expect smooth sailing (or driving) ahead.
Seriously, stay away from this horrible-over-designed-sure-to-damage-your-leisure-or-business-trip-experience!

I have found the GO 720 to perform well, easy to program and all we had hoped for on vacation. I am pleased we choose the bluetooth feature, makes finding motels & resturants a breeze.

SO far the tomtom go 720 has been great. I've noticed that most of teh issues I have with it stem from not completely knowing how to work all the features yet but I can clearly see this is an awesome GPS and my wife absolutly loves it. The bluetooth feature is also excellent and the reception when making a phone call is very clear. Great product here!Digital camera Review: 720 is a GO

I love the Tele Atlas Maps that the 720 uses--The POI coverage is impressive, and i just read that they have over 24 million of them. I didn't even know there were 24 million points of interest, period. TT makes it really easy to entering addresses according to state,and the screen is large and able to be fully customized. I also love the fact that it provides the text-to-speech option.

I had problems with the 720 right out of the box. The included cd Home software needed to be upgraded and the download cut off the bottom half of the screen so you can't read the choices. Then the computer wouldn't recognize the 720 when plugged into the docking station. This took 4 hours of deleting software, redownloading updates etc. just to get the computer to recognize the 720. You have to go through this because you have to download software and map updates to get the 720 up and running. Now comes the real problem-the unit is inaccurate!!! The GPS is about 200-300 feet off!! It locates me in the middle of my neighbors driveway, and my home location is in the middle of woods on the west side of the neighbor, when I am actually on the east side. There was no way to get that corrected even with help of a very good tech support guy. Also when you go by an intersection the unit still shows you approaching it, again I would guess a lag of 200-300 feet in real time. We had a Garmin b-4 and it located you exactly, and was 50% more user friendly than the TomTom. The bottom line-buy the Garmin 360 and save yourself a lot of headache. That`s what I did today, the TomTom was returned!!! Tech support was very good but could not resolve issues.
