Digital camera Review: Bad TomTom 930T

I purchased the TomTom 930T from Amazon around Nov 22, 2009. I kept it for about 20 days trying to get the features that I paid for to work, first, the traffic reciever didn't work, I was on the phone with TomTom support for at least 2 hours dealing with that, then the advnce lane guidance wasn't going to work in the city I drive most in (Nashnville,TN), no cure for that. Also the speech would break up and even cut out several times per day. I was excited to get this unit for these features. TomTom tech support kept passing the buck, they never woul let me talk to anyone in charge, and never fixed the issues, except they offered to send me a new traffic reciever (so I could stay on the phone another hour or so to try and get it to work). I sent the unit back to Amazon, they asked no questions and gave me a full refund. This reviw has nothing but high prasies for Amazon, but as for TomTom...I will stick with my Garmins I have had for years.Digital camera Review: Catastrophic Mount

The TomTom 930T is a good GPS - I guess... However, the fun is taken away from using it when the unit comes of the mount all the time, regardles if you fasten it to the windshield or the dashboard. It happens in particular in cold conditions and leaves me frustrated what to do now. I am waiting for the unit to break the next time when it comes off. After owning and using various GPS devices for many years, this seemed like a nice step forward. I will never know as the device never worked. It crashed again and again as I attempted to start it for the first time. After spending many hours working at it with TomTom customer support, they reached the conclusion I came to in the first 10 minutes - the device was defective. Although their supportive staff were nice, it took 6 of them and hours to figure out it was defective. THEN they told me that the company policy is not to pay for shipping. They expected me to pay to ship a device back to them that arrived broken. Huh? Does this mean I was very unlucky or that their devices aren't so hot or that there quality control is poor? The TOMTOM 930T arrived early and is better than described. They even have a list of cities covered by Trafic Radio, the stations and their frequencies. When I travel to Atlanta or DC, that will be worth an hour of headache relief!! The device does everything they say it will do and
has the added function of a choice of many interesting voices to direct you on your way. I have advised many friends about it and recommended it

We purchased the TOMTOM 930T prior to our 5400 mile trip. It performed excellent with very few issues. It gave a picture of lanes near a major intersection, indicating which lane you should be in. Through some very difficult areas this feature saved us many issues. We are very pleased with this product.
