Digital camera reviews of TomTom ONE 3rd Edition 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Vehicle NavigatorDigital camera Review: Awesome Summary: 5 Stars
TomTom One Third Edition Auto Navigation System Refurbished This is an awesome navigation system and so easy to use. I have had no problems with it thus far and am enjoying getting where I need to go and not finding myself in "No Man's Land" from a mapquest printout. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Digital camera Review: Awesome GPS! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my husband for his birthday. He loves it! We have already used it several times. It's fun to use and user friendly. I highly recommend this for the use, functionality and enjoyment that our whole family has gotten from it in the last month! We especially like the showing of the roads rear the road we're on because you can be more aware of potential traffic approaching the road.
Digital camera Review: Awesome product with a great price! Summary: 5 Stars
This is an awesome GPS. It has worked well right out of the box. I like all the features and it's easy to use. I like the ability to customize the look and the map correction feature is nice. I bought this based on the reviews from others and they were right.
Digital camera Review: Awesome product... but where's the Itinerary feature? Summary: 4 Stars
All in all, a good product for a great price. I was impressed by the user friendly menu, easy software install, clear voice directions, excellent sat reception and a large, sharp screen. I love being able to make and download map corrections using TomTom Home w/ Mapshare, especially with all the construction around where I live. (the install files are stored on the unit.. no CD)
This device is almost perfect.
...almost...
I was willing to settle for not having the bells and whistles of bluetooth, mp3, SD card slot and traffic (you need to pay $150 for an external RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver antenna if you want that feature with this device) in exchange for a very hefty cut in price from the previous versions. What annoys me is that this is the ONLY TomTom device that does not accept .itn files. These are files that TomTom uses to plan a multi-destination route using waypoints. As far as I can tell, you can't even set waypoints at all on this thing! I can understand cutting the hardware extras to make it more affordable, but there's really no reason to not have this very handy software feature. This would be a 5 star product if the menu didn't lack this useful tool.. seemingly for no reason.
Digital camera Review: Awful, buggy, cheap substitute for the real thing Summary: 1 Stars
This is a cheap substitute for the real thing which is the Nuvi built by Garmin. I had one of these for a week thinking I would save some money. If you're thinking that too, FORGET IT. This thing was awful, slow to boot, would freeze up, and it would start with my car 300 yards from my house. It was impossible to use their online update feature so I gave up on that. The directions are dreadful too, I think if you live in Iowa and the streets are a mile apart fine, but in a crowded area hearing "turn right in 250 feet" doesn't help much when that could any one of three right hand turns. In the end I returned this toy and bought a Garmin Nuvi 750 which is AWESOME. Great turn by turn nav instructions with street names spoken, much bigger screen, lots of great functionality and none of the silliness you'll never use like Bluetooth for your phone (why I'd want to have a conversation through my nav system I'll never know). Buyer beware you get what you pay for and sometimes even less and this is DEFINITELY one of those cases.
