Digital camera Review: Don't waste your money!!!

I don't normally reveiw anything but this GPS is SO bad I feel I owe it to the next guy to share my experience with it. I am THOROUGHLY disgusted with it!!!!I gave this thing 1 star only because it *will* get you from point a to point b albeit not necessarily the shortest or the fastest route!!! It has repeatedly tried to take me WAY out of my way to get to places I already knew how to get to but just needed the last few turns in a sudivision. I am convinced Tom Tom is either owned by a big oil company or has major stock in one!!!! This last trip today it had me going 44 miles in 56 minutes plus $5.00 in tolls as the fastest route, when I had it reconfigure it had me going 29 miles in 59 minutes with no tolls. I regularly travel this route and knew it only takes 30-35 minutes, which is what a map from one of the FREE map sites confirmed!!! And thats exactly what it took me!!!! Be prepared to purchase updated maps ($80). All information I read online led me to believe the latest map guarantee was automatic. When it didn't occur automatically and I inquired w/TomTom, they responded that I needed to submit proof of purchase, etc. By then my 30 days were almost up -- too late for the free update. If I'd known that, I would have purchased a Nuvi that I'd had my eye on for quite awhile. Sigh.Digital camera Review: TomTom ONE XL-S GPS Navigator is great!

Had difficulties initially. In order to load the most current US & Canada map, I had to wipe the drive clean with the help of tech support and then reload everything including the new map. But since then it has been fantastic. We have taken trips from Vermont to the New York Catskills and to the Maine seacoast and it navigated us perfectly to our destinations. Only problem I have now is that everyone wants to borrow it! Digital camera Review: Real value for money!!!

Product generally works well is especially good at giving lane directions as you come to exits. Also good a distance and time information. Some routes are a little curious so keep a map handy. Screen size very nice
