This machine replaced another Tv that went simply dead. Ease of purchase on Amazon was a great help in getting a replacement quickly. Having the DVD built in allowed me to get rid of the exterbal DVD player - and all the attendant wires. Now I only have the TV itself and the cable box [which is larger than the TV!!]. It could have had a better quality sound system, but is perfecly adequate for its use in the kitchen. Some people may be concerned bcause the TV is not instant on when you push the power buttin; but that's the new technology [actually very old] whereby the TV is not using electricty when it's turned off.Digital camera Review: GGGRRRREEEAAAAT Buy!

So glad I purchased this set. I was looking for something that was small/portable that I can have on my desk while I work. This is perfect. Both picture and sound quality are very nice. Like others have mentioned, the only thing that is a bit annoying is the lag time while changing channels. But that isn't such a big deal to me. We were needing a replacement tv for our kitchen and wanted one that did not take up alot of space. This IS it. The reviews listed here are all accurate. Very nice set and easy to use and great picture. We have it hooked to Dish TV. Loved it so much we ordered another for the RV. Thank you Amazon for offering a great product at a great price. I had a Coby, which I used in our RV. It was a terrible TV. The Toshiba has a much better picture, better software, and better sound.
