Digital camera Review: Annoying Tuner and Setup... Nice TV otherwise
Summary: 3 Stars

The picture is good. The sound is OK. The built in HD is a nice bonus. Why is the tuner sooooo SLOW!? It takes a good second or more for the picture to come up when you change the channel. As a matter fact, when you change the channel the picture won't come on before you can change to the next channel. Making channel surfing impossible to tediously slow. I only have basic expanded cable and it takes over 5 minutes to surf every channel if I wait for the picture to come up on each station. Doesn't sound like a long time but try it yourself and see how long it normally takes. Extremely annoying! Also, the channel programming menu sucks. To add or delete a channel you have scroll through a slow moving list of every single channel to add/delete. You can't just go to a channel and hit add/delete. It has to be done in the setup menu where you can't preview the actual channels. DVD player seems to work ok but, it did have some problems recognizing a disc the other day. I had to eject it and replace before it picked up. The TV itself looks nice. It has a very glossy frame around the screen and the speakers are barely noticeable. I have it mounted on a swing arm over a bar area and needed the built in DVD player. This was the most affordable($303)one I could find that was made by a top manufacturer. A comparable model from Sanyo was a $100 more.

Digital camera Review: Beware
Summary: 1 Stars

I accepted the low volume output from this set but when it refused to eject dvds I was fed up. It had to be mailed(AT MY EXPENSE) across country for WARRANTY service. I think Toshiba wants you to give up and not repair it, thus avoiding the trouble of fixing it. I am so disappointed with this product.

Set is a gem....now that I have it back from Toshiba repair. I have always been in electronics and it happens...a problem with a set on arrival. Now repaired fine and Toshiba is a fine company to work with.
I mounted the set on the wall in my breakfast den with a Peerless Articulating wallmount Mod. LCS-KLA from Amazon. The DVD player is great. Just insert the leading edge of the disc and the set "sucks" in the disk and it starts reading. With the wall mount I just rotate the set slightly to start the DVD insertion. No problem.
Complaints about audio quality? It only has a tiny speaker. Can't expect Hi-Fi! But there is a stereo earphone jack that allows varous types of external PC speaker combos to be used (with a 3.5 mm plug). Or a digital audio out for big time sound but you must have compatible digital amp.
Well satisfied with the 19LV505!

Digital camera Review: Brilliant picture, superb quality
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought one of these units for use on my boat, and I am very glad that I did. This is a beautiful unit, well-constructed, nicely designed, and very sharp looking. The black trim is very attractive and likely to fit in well in any room or setting.

The picture quality leaves nothing to be desired. The colors are brilliant and sharp. This is as good as a 19 inch 780P HD-TV gets. The built-in DVD player works very well and is a pleasure to use.

The unit is very nicely designed from a user-interface standpoint. The single remote control can control all functions in an intuitive and integrated fashion--no need to be switching between a DVD and TV controller. Further, the menus are easy to figure out and intuitive. You really could get by without the manual for this unit, although the manual is well-written and easy to follow.

A few nits (none sufficient to deprive this unit of 5 stars). First, the remote control uses AAA batteries. These tend to discharge a LOT more quickly than the larger AA batteries and frankly, they don't save all that much space. The unit does not appear to have a screensaver for when you leave the DVD player on pause or stop for a time. And the audio in the unit could have a little more volume for larger rooms. All minor nits.

This is a beautiful unit that I am very pleased to own.

Digital camera Review: Completely Satisfied !

I purchased this for my RV and for the Divx player capabilities.I have to say that this unit has exceeded my expectations. Set up was simple, picture quality is great via cable hookup and the Divx player plays all of my Divx movies. I know there has been some negative reviews on the sound quality but having this in my RV has not presented a problem, I have yet to turn it up past 50% volume.
