A disposable TV! First one returned...no picture. Second one worked great! Wonderful, clear picture...sound okay (better than most LCD TVs I tried). Easy set up. Remote glows in the dark. Now after several months, no picture. I would have to return to Toshiba at my expense. I have always loved Toshiba products, but no longer expect a long life from them. It's back to my 10 year old Toshiba that still works fine...but lacks the quality picture this model had.
I strongly urge people not to buy this model unless they want to invest in a disposable TV!

I have owned this television for a little while and must say I am pleased. My old CRT was starting to emit an annoying high-pitched whine whenever it was turned on, and I knew then it was time to upgrade. Not wanting to buy another tube, I decided to go with lcd. After a lot of research, I settled on the Toshiba 19" w/ DVD player.
And I never looked back.
The picture quality for the size and price of the set is downright excellent. This is a bedroom television, and I can see the picture perfectly no matter the angle I view it in (I don't have it wall mounted, so I can't tell you how it looks from there). Obviously, you wouldn't want this for a living room or den, but smaller rooms are just perfect. I also love the pc input as well as HDMI and game inputs. Just fantastic.
From looking at the other reviews here, I see many people have an issue over sound quality. Honestly, that just confuses me. My set right now is at 29 and that is more than enough, so I really don't know what it is about the sound that is inadequate and I have no hearing problems whatsoever. Considering the size and type of speakers, I'm not sure what many were expecting. HOWEVER, since so many have this issue, not just a select few, perhaps it's an actual problem. I don't know, but I suspect it's just something to take your chances on. If you are not happy with the sound in the end, I read that a good computer speaker works just fine and really makes a difference.
The built in DVD works perfectly. However, there is something I should note. In another review, I read that a customer was disappointed that theirs does not play "copied" DVDs. All I can say is, "um?" In my experience, burned dvds are either a hit or miss. Some players will play them, some won't, that's just how it is. The customer reports that the dvd player plays the originals of the disks just fine. Ignoring the illegal implications of it, I don't see how this is a big issue. Then again, I don't own any burned DVDs; I hate the look of them and prefer having the licensed dvds and their cases for display purposes. If this is a big deal, I suppose this is also something to consider.
All in all, this is worth the buy, especially now you can find sets easily for less than retail price.

I will recommend this vendor. He delivered as promised. The TV that I bought was used so I wasn't sure in what condition the product will be. To my surprise it was almost like buying a new TV at a discounted price. I love it.
