We bought a Toshiba 19" TV with built in DVD player about a year and a half ago. Within 30 days of initial use, a DVD jammed in the player and would not eject. We had purchased it at Circuit City and they had a 30 day return policy; we bought the TV for a Christmas present so the 30 days elapsed before it was even used the first time, my mistake. Circuit City would not allow a return because the 30 days had expired. They told us to contact Toshiba directly for warranty work. Toshiba wanted to make us pay to ship the defective product for warranted repairs. After many frustrating minutes and elevation to a supervisor, Toshiba finally agreed to send a postage paid label and pay the shipping costs. Toshiba returned the repaired set.
Here it is about a year and a half later and the same thing happened, a DVD is stuck making the DVD player useless. Poor quality and poor customer service so I've concluded to not buy Toshiba again. Too bad because I had good luck with old Toshiba TVs.
The TV is fine, it's just the built in DVD player that is poor quality.
I would not recommend a Toshiba with built in DVD player.

Researched this product, wanted it in white, most of the big box dealers only had black, and needed this due to space constraints in our travel trailer and it's a replacement for our analog RCA. Most state parks in Texas don't have cable, so we wouldn't have been able to watch anything after the turn off date. First one arrived and wouldn't consistently play the DVD's, returned it to the dealer, (don't mess with Toshiba) prepaid, and a week later we had the replacement unit. Works all the way and the HDTV picture is great. Only problem I can see is the limited volume capability. I have the white version of this TV-DVD, and get my signal over the air.
Some other reviews warn about the slow channel changing, but I had no idea how slow it would be. It takes 5 full seconds to change the channel. Literally. By the clock. Five full seconds. For a channel-surfer like me, that's crazy-making.
Also, over-the-air reception with this TV is terrible, compared to two other TVs I've used in the exact same spot with the exact same antenna (6 fewer channels). Think twice before buying this model if, like me, you rely on broadcast TV.
The DVD works fine. But I wish I'd bought a different TV.
Digital camera Review: Sound NG

Had this unit a few days now, picture great, sound not so good. With the volume maxed out it was still too low, one could hardly hear the TV sitting 10ft away. Luckily, my cable coverter box also has a volume control, using that the sound is fine. If it wasn't for my coverter box I would have returned this TV. Don't buy if you don't have some sort of auxillary volume support.
