Digital camera reviews of Toshiba 250 GB USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive HDDR250E03XDigital camera Review: Died in less than a year Summary: 1 Stars
This piece of junk died the same week my hard drive crashed, so I thought I had lost everything. But I put it in the freezer overnight (double-wrapped in ziploc bags to guard against condensation) and got my data back. Caveat emptor.
Digital camera Review: Does its job. Summary: 4 Stars
This is a great hard drive for the average person. You may need to get someone to show you how to actually back things up, but once we learned, it does just fine. We just got it to back up important files, music, and pics, and it has done just fine. Best value we found.
Digital camera Review: Does the Job! Summary: 5 Stars
Very good product and easy to use. Holds plenty of my pictures and videos.
Digital camera Review: Does what it should Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this drive because it uses ONE port, doesn't need a power adapter, has cache, and is small. All of those things held true, I found no unwelcome surprises. Mine generates nearly no heat at all. The cable is about 6" long, but it is a standard mini-usb, so you probably have 3 of them in your house anyway. I formatted this NTFS with a large cluster size...i forget.... anyway, it copies at 30MBps. megaBYTES. as in a gigabyte in 35 seconds. No i'm not kidding. Its tiny, i have coasters in my living room with larger footprints. I know this is a total scatterbrain review, but what can i say...choosing the right product on the first try kinda tickles me.
Digital camera Review: Don't buy it you will get screwed Summary: 1 Stars
I bought one of these drives and a couple months later the cord went out. I tried to replace the cord but could not find one that would power it up. So I ended up having to buy another Toshiba hard drive just for the cord. Another couple months later the cord went out again. So I called Toshiba to get a replacement. Ended up calling 5 different numbers that they gave me before reaching a person to help me. They first told me to buy a y-cable that didn't work, then they had me buy another cord and again didn't work. So I ended up getting screwed out of shipping costs twice and have yet to find a cable to power this drive. I've been to even Best Buy and could not find a cord to work. So I'm warning you this product is defective.
