Summary: 4 Stars
Works pretty well, I have had 2 older DVDRs (both philips) This is a little easlier to use and has a smaller footprint.
Pros: The upconversion works very well
Negs: The remote is black and with very small printing and hard to read captions, however after a while you can find the buttons by feel due to the different size of the buttoms and the layout
Price makes it a good value
