It took me 10 minutes to set this unit up and have it running-- without looking at the manual. And I'm no techie. I then used the easy-to-read manual to fine tune the settings. Picture quality is not quite as good as my Samsung-- but close enough!

I have been very impressed with Toshiba products. For a few years I bought only Sony (CD recorder, DVD 5 disc player, dual well cassette), mainly for the features offered, but within less than a year, every one of them started to malfunction or not work at all. This is not intended to trash Sony, just relaying my frustrating experiences with their products. I have a Toshiba DVD player I've owned for over 5 years now without a single problem, so when I decided to get a DVD recorder with digital tuner, I gave Toshiba (and the rest) a hard look. The DR560 is exactly what I wanted. The digital tuner brings in crystal clear DTV, and the DVD picture is fantastic. Yes, the remote could be more clearly labeled, and there is a small lag time when the player is loading a disc or changing channels, but these are insignificant compared to the wealth of features and quality picture acheived for a very reasonable price. My next purchase will be an LCD TV and you can bet I will start my search with Toshiba.Digital camera Review: Excellent buy
