When the price dropped to $90, but included 7 HD-DVD movies, not to mention up-converting for regular DVDs and CDs, that was all I needed. Even though I know Toshiba lost the war, I gained a lot more. The video and audio are great, even on my old DVDs, and the price was less than that of other up-converting DVD players. All in all, I got a great deal on a DVD player for my bedroom. Some day I may even buy a Blu-Ray player for the family room -- when the price comes down!Digital camera Review: Great Product

Great Product. No hook-up problems. No movie loading problems. Awsome picture and sound with 50" plasma and HDMI input. There is no need for 1080P, the picture can't get any better. You are wasting your money on 1080p and blu-ray. It's to bad Blu-Ray is the only format the industry will support.

Although I knew that I was buying a DVD format that is going to be obsolete, I couldn't resist getting one of these at a firesale price. The picture quality is simply fantastic. And, so far I have had a lot of fun finding price reductions HD-DVD movies all over the place (on the internet, at Target, and at Hollywood Video). With the player and the movies at bargain prices, this has been really fun to own.
I fully acknowledge that it will be hard to find HD DVD movies in a year or so, but this is a cheap way to enjoy the technology NOW at a reasonable price... while waiting for blu-ray players and movies to come down in price. Highly recommended!
