Digital camera Review: DVD Broke in less than one year
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought TV/DVD combo from retail store - DVD broke during the first year of use - just stopped working.

Digital camera Review: Buyer Beware!
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this TV/DVD Combo in January 2005. Four months later it stopped working; it wouldn't turn on. I unplugged the unit for 30 minutes as suggested by a Toshiba representative, but to no avail. The unit cost a little over $150 and it will likely cost 50% or more of the purchase price for repairs according to a Toshiba authorized repairman. It's not worth it. Lesson learned. Next time, I will buy another brand!

Digital camera Review: DO NOT BUY TOSHIBA THROUGH WEGOTBETTERDEALS.COM
Summary: 1 Stars

My experience with this unit echoes everything else you've read here. I made the mistake of buying this item "factory standard" refurbished, and obviously, all the company did was re-package a damaged product. The DVD player simply doesn't work and any slightly competent repairman would know that upon inserting a DVD. I ordered this unit two weeks ago, paid for it, and here it sits in my apartment, as it's now my responsibility to package it up and bring it to a UPS store. Easy shipping was half the reason I bought it online in the first place, not to mention the extra $30 it cost to have it delivered. The thing weighs 30 lbs., I don't have a car, and there's no UPS shop within a mile of my house. Basically, this is a $140 paper weight. It will be weeks before I have a TV, these guys are not being helpful, and surely, whomever buys through them next will get this defective TV/DVD unit; Don't let it be you.

Here's the response I got from Wegotbetterdeals.com when I told them the defective DVD player was coming back COD (Note the hillbilly spelling) :

Sorry. That's how it works.

We have done what we can do. The refurbisher that owns the warranty has done what they can do. You choose to take another route. Not our fault.

Yes the package will be refused. As per the Amazon return policy you are
responsible for returning the unit. It also states that it must be
postmarked within 7 days of receipt. You are long from both. Remember you paid Amazon not us. By the way. We will be glad to forward all of the emails that we have sent you, the refurbisher has sent you and all of yours showing that we did as what you stated " as promised ".

You have no leg to stand on. You purchased under terms and agreements with
Amazon and I guess that you think that you can make up your own rules. Well
unfortunately life does not work that way. Maybe in your little world you
think it does but you are sadly mistaken.

Here is Amazons return policy. Read it before you send us an other unrelated
full of BS email.

"If necessary, you can return your item to the seller for a refund. Please
note that items purchased from Amazon Auctions or zShops sellers need to be
returned directly to the seller and not to Amazon.com.

To be eligible for a refund, you must return your item to your seller in the
same condition you received it, and the return must be postmarked within one
week of receipt. Shipping and handling charges for returning an item are
borne by the buyer."

You can do what ever you choose with the product. It is your to keep.

Have a nice life looser.

Digital camera Review: THIS BROKE WITHIN 1 YEAR!
Summary: 1 Stars

I received this TV as a gift, and it came off the factory in Jan 2004, and it recently broke, the power connection and board totally had to get replaced, cost more than 120.00 to fix, almost enough for me to scrap the whole thing and buy another tv. It worked well until one day, it wouldn't turn on any more. Buyer BEWARE, after a year it could poop out on you. And it would not be under agreement any more! No reason should a tv stop working after 1 year.!!!

Digital camera Review: Terrible Customer Service from Toshiba
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought this tv and started having problems with it 4 months later, the tv turns itself off immediately after you turn it on. I was upset that it was one month out of labor warranty so I was going to have to pay $80 for repairs already. No one on the customer service lines at Toshiba was underdstanding or apologetic for this inconvenience. I had it repaired and am still having problems with it doing the same thing. Toshiba will not do anything about it until they hear from the service company which means I have to take time off work to drive it back to this service company. And still I have yet to hear one of their customer service reps apologize for sell me a lemon of a TV. I will never by Toshiba again. And I would never recommend them to anyone else that was looking for a TV.
