Digital camera Review: "Transcend SDHC Card" - HOORAY! -- "Frustration-Free Packaging" - BOO!

About the Transcend SDHC card: The cards work well in my Fujifilm S100FS camera and my computer.
About the Frustration-Free packaging: The card comes in its own small plastic protective case about twice the size of the card itself. This is then inserted, with a small paper pamplet, into a sturdy, sealed, plain, flat cardboard sleeve measuring 8" x 8" making a package size totaling about 3/8" x 8" x 8".
Ready to ship, right? Just affix a label and ship it. WRONG!
Next step: Amazon puts two of these shippable packages into a cardboard box measuring, now get this, 3-1/2" x 10" x 12-1/2" with all that excess space filled in with unecessary bubble-wrap.
Note! The two original packages total 48 cubic inches, the box they came in equals 437.5 cubic inches, over 9 times the volume.
Now to the good part (or should I say the frustrating part): I called Amazon just to let them know how foolish this is, since I actually spent a little extra for minimal packaging materials in an effort to care for our environment, and by the time I got off the phone after two calls to them I was not only frustrated, but I was downright angry.
So, with that being said, 'Frustration-Free Packaging" BOO! --- "Transcend SDHC cards" HOORAY!
I'm sure the Transcend SDHC cards will work just fine for a long time to come. If you purchase a SD or SDHC card that is compatible with your equipment, you should have no problems with the product. I checked with Fujifilm before purchasing and there were other brands that they did not recommend, even though the others were advertised as basically the same product.
Update: December 31, 2009, 3 months later and the cards are still performing as expected and I see no reason to question future performance. I would recommend these cards for the Fujifilm S100FS digital camera if, and only if your computer will also support them. Check that out before purchasing.
