Digital camera reviews of Transcend 4 GB Class 6 microSDHC Flash Memory Card TS4GUSDHC6

Digital camera Review: Fast Write Speeds
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased a few of these to use in some cell phones I was looking at. Ended up purchasing phones that don't have SD slots, so I use them in my digital cameras. Write speeds are very fast, which translates into shorter lag time between photos. Would definitely purchase again.

Digital camera Review: Fast and affordable storage
Summary: 5 Stars

Great product, no issues. Class 6 which is currently the fastest transfer speed. Used in LG NEON & LG VU phones. Comes with SD adaptor, but no jewel/storage case.

Digital camera Review: Fast, trouble-free high capacity photo card
Summary: 4 Stars

First, a word about my application for this card: I bought this for my Olympus Stylus 550-WP camera, looking for higher capacity (Olympus's XD card M+ format only goes up to 2GB), and faster performance.

Demonstrably this 4GB card is higher capacity. I haven't really noticed a speed gain over the Olympus cards (maybe half a second, even less), but here I'd mention two caveats. First, Olympus M+ xD cards have a write speed of about 4MB/S {I just learned this after buying the Transcend microSDHC card}, so the gain with Class-6 cards' 6MB speed isn't really that great, writing a single 4-5MB uncompressed JPEG photo file, YMMV (I may 'upgrade' again when Class-10 cards come down in price). Second, the 550-WP has been noted by a number of reviewers as having a 1-3 second lag time between shots, independent of settings and storage card speed. It certainly isn't any slower than the Olympus cards, and the Transcend 4GB Class-6 microSDHC card is less expensive than any xD M+ 2GB card ($10 v $14)

Having said all that, I'd give this card a strongly positive rating. At less than $10, its a value. In your device you may very well see speed gains, dependent on your hardware and your expectations.

This appears to be a well made card, and fits correctly in both xD and SD (full-size) adaptors, ans also a 'universal' adaptor that connects cards to computer directly. Granted this is a small and necessarily delicate item, so some care is required in handling, but this is no defect in construction of this brand or model, just a design limitation that is easily accommodated when handling all microSD cards.

I will have to update this review in 6 to 12 months to comment on durability & long term reliability, but since this is essentially kust another piece of flash memory (one of the most robust technologies of those we've been introduced to over the last 25 or 30 years) like any USB flash drive, SD, CF, MMC, MS, Solid-state 'hard' drive, or other, I expect it to be fine. I had not heard of Transcend before purchasing, but since construction (case, contacts/connector, etc.) is very good, and since almost all manufacturers of solid state storage get their chips from either Sansa, Toshiba, or Kingston, it should last just as long as the "name brand".

Digital camera Review: Good Card
Summary: 5 Stars

Good card. I bought two of these from the cheapest store and haven't seen any quality difference from the more expensive stores. I haven't tried the adaptor, but if its like the card, it should be working. Perfect for cell phones.

Digital camera Review: Good and fast
Summary: 5 Stars

Works fine in my Verizon xv6800 smartphone.. I was having problems with a class 4 card, but this class 6 card is working fine
